Why teach?

To this day, I can remember all of my elementary teachers and how much I loved each one. They each had an impact on me, and that is something I want to be able to do for my future students. Teaching is more than just students learning about subjects, it's about connecting with your students as well. Especially with eveything that's going on in the world right now, we need teachers that care for their students and that will support them all the way. I have a couple teachers in my family, my sister being one of them, so I've seen and heard what it's like for them. They go above and beyond as teachers and I want to be just like them.

I am currently working as a substitute teacher, I work with elementary, middle school, and high school. I've already gotten some insight of what each grade is like, and I can certainly say that I don't want to teach middle school, nor high school. I know I want to be a bilingual elementary school teacher, either kindergarten or first grade. Spanish was my first language, and I want to teach students who are like me and are learning English as their second language.
